Welcome to Practice Tones

Meet the Team

My name is Ty Petty, and I am a musician, solopreneur, and software developer. I absolutely love music and enjoy the process of practicing my instruments. I play saxophone, clarinet, and flute.

My love of music started in junior high when I began playing saxophone. I just couldn’t put it down and started practicing for hours and hours throughout high school and even a few years into college. Ultimately, I decided to pursue a degree in computer science but always held on to my enthusiasm for music.

The idea for this app came from years and years of practicing my instruments. I always had multiple apps open on my phone or computer, or I used multiple other devices like a metronome and tuner. I always wished that I could have everything I needed in one place so that my practice time could be less distracting and more productive. This is when Practice Tones was born.

What Is Practice Tones

Our app is essentially a Swiss Army knife of music apps. It allows you to have a metronome, tuner, staff paper, to-do lists, and more all on a single page. It is designed to make your practice session effective and rewarding. By using the app daily, you can create strong habits with all the essential practice tools and really see a difference in your playing.

We recognize that there are many other apps that do similar things, but as mentioned earlier, we aim to be a one-stop shop for your practice needs. Whatever you need, we try to have it available to make your practice sessions less distracting by eliminating the need to switch between multiple apps and tools.

The dashboard page is where the application truly lives and where we expect musicians to spend the majority of their time on the site. However, we also have a blog page dedicated to bringing you high-quality content about practicing techniques and strategies. We will interview accomplished artists and well-known teachers to share advice that can be applied to any instrument.

Conclusion

We are here to serve. Please reach out to us if you have any questions, suggestions for new features, or need help with the app. You can send us a message at any time by submitting the form on the “Contact” page of this site.

Stay tuned for more content, and thank you for using our app!
